This is a really fun book, with an inner message about the power of imagination, the joys of being, and the spirit of community. The text is a bit Dr. Zeuss-like, although perhaps aimed at a slightly older audience. And the illustrator gets a big shout-out as well for the evocative drawings.
Meet Storyman Mark
Master Storyteller & Teacher
Mark has been a professional storyteller since graduating from the Emerson College School of Storytelling in England in 1995. After his first performance in March of 1996, at the North Park Village Nature Center in Chicago, he was asked to be their resident storyteller. For 25 years Mark crafted storytelling workshops, performances, started a Storytelling Guild and held a yearly Tellabration Event to raise awareness of storytelling as an art form. Mark has performed in libraries, schools, hospitals, in parks, festivals, around campfires, and at birthday parties in and around Chicago and Illinois.
